Water Projects

  • Construction of Kunzvi and Muchekeranwa Dams in Mashonaland East.
  • Construction of Marovanyati Dam in Buhera, Manicaland.
  • Construction of Gwayi-Shangani Dam which is expected to supply water to Bulawayo Metropolitan and create
  • a green belt/zone (agriculture) in Matabeleland region.
  • Construction of the Tuli-Manyange Dam in Gwanda, Matabeleland South Province.
  • Deka pipeline project which will augment the supply of water in Hwange, Matabeleland North Province.
  • Bulawayo Kraal Irrigation Scheme which is set to cover 15 000 hectares of land is in progress. It will help improve food security.
  • Completion of the Tokwe Mukosi Dam in Masvingo Province. It is the largest inland water reservoir in the country which has the potential to facilitate rapid economic development in the Province.
  • Rehabilitation/refurbishment of the Morton Jeffrey Water Works, a project which has since improved water supply in most of the suburbs in Harare Metropolitan.
  • Borehole drilling in urban centres e.g St Mary’s and Glen View.
