Born 15th September 1942.
A nationalist and Liberation War Veteran, sentenced to death by the Rhodesians for fighting to liberate Zimbabwe and was on death row for eleven (11) years, four (4) of them solitary. Was ZANLA Chief of Security at the height of the Liberation Struggle.
Current Third President of Zimbabwe, Head of State and Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces since 24 November 2017.
Held numerous Cabinet ministerial posts since 1980.
President and First Secretary of ZANU PF.
An experienced, listening, visionary, trustworthy, caring and revolutionary authentic transformational leader.
Has a vision for a peaceful, prosperous, economically developed, socially advanced and politically stable Zimbabwe in which every citizen enjoys a high quality of life under equal protection of the law. As leader of the New Dispensation in Zimbabwe, he is living and driving this vision as epitomised in the Transitional Stabilization Programme, National Development Strategy (NDS) 1, NDS 2, Vision 2030 and the chain of deliverables attained so far thereof.
A lawyer by profession who, because of his own life experience, is strongly opposed to capital punishment/death penalty.
Having turned 80 years on 15th September 2022, God Almighty seldom packages and presents resilience, hard work, wisdom, experience, visionary caring leadership and good energetic health as in this Candidate.
